John Lennon OLPC Ad: Poor Taste?
by admin on Dec.31, 2008, under Social Platforms
John Lennon has been resurrected in the form of an ad for OLPC - the non-profit campaign trying to equip the world’s poorest children with laptops for education.
We’re not sold on the ad (above). Not only is bringing back a dead star for the sake of an ad a little tasteless - even if John would have supported the cause, and Yoko Ono approved the use of his image here - but it has no emotional impact, no resonance. Frankly, it just falls flat.
